Story of TAIKKA
It was 2012. In London. And we wanted to have bags that were not made from leather. We settled with nylon. And we still love nylon, but we need it to be more sustainable until we can use it again.
Like destiny we met the CFO of Ananas Anam, casually in a school yard. He told us about plant-based textile innovation as they were turning waste of pineapple harvest into a fabric. Were we interested to try it? Oh YES! And so we developed our ananas+ range.
It's not so easy to work in this industry, but we keep our minds open and hearts passionate. We are aiming to make everything from plant-based materials. We have stopped single plastic use entirely and are on the way to improve all of our supply chain.
As we work half a world apart (London/Melbourne) we treasure these rare moments that we can see each others!
